Ida Jeweline Beam Brooks Denniston (Jewel Denniston), of Marble Falls, went to be with her maker on Wednesday, July 09, 2014, at the age of 89. Born in Wichita Falls in 1924 to Clyde L. and Emma Mae Tatom Beam, Jewel was the oldest of seven siblings. Jewel married Henry Brooks in 1939 at the age of 15. They went on to have four sons before Henry’s death in 1980. After Henry’s death, Jewel remarried in 1983, and spent 28 happy years with Jim Denniston, who passed in 2011. Jewel’s pride and joy has always been serving the Lord and her family, and she has spent many years as a devoted Christian, mother, wife, grandmother and friend to all. She is preceded in death by her parents Clyde L. and Emma Mae Tatom Beam, late husband Henry Brooks, late husband Jim Denniston, and brothers Elmer Beam and Lester Smith. Jewel is survived by her four sons, Wilburn Brooks and wife Cora of Kingsland; Jimmy Brooks and wife Pam of Menard, Texas; Larry Brooks and wife Susie of Weatherford, Texas; and Royce Brooks of Marble Falls. She also leaves behind an outstanding legacy that includes 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Friday, July 11 at 10 a.m. at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home Marble Falls, with burial following at Marble Falls City Cemetery.
