Jerry Lynn Hering, 76, of Austin passed away July 3. He was born on Sept. 12, 1937 in Waco to Otto Hering and Clara Jenkins Hering. Jerry was a graduate of Waco University High School. He served in the National Guard, attended Baylor University, and was a graduate of the SMU School of Banking.  He started his career as an advertising executive with the Waco Tribune Herald newspaper. Jerry was Senior Vice President of Texas National Bank in Waco and also served as a Woodway City Councilman for three terms. Jerry moved to Austin in 1983 where he worked as a Senior Vice President of Guaranty National Bank and Senior Vice President at 1st State Bank of Austin.  In 1991 he purchased C&D TV and Appliance in Marble Falls and operated it until his retirement in 2005.  In his retirement he kept up with his business investments and other hobbies. Jerry is survived by his wife Maureen Hering of Austin, son and daughter- in-law Kenneth and Cara Hering of Marble Falls, and two grandsons Matthew and Luke Hering of Marble Falls. Jerry was preceded in death by his daughter Kristie Hering and his parents Clara and Otto, and sisters Margaret Oliver and Annette Blain. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 8 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls with Gordon Smith officiating.  Interment will follow at 3 p.m. at Waco Memorial Park.  Condolences may be offered to Arrangements made by Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home Marble Falls.
