Llano’s surprising baseball run came to an end Saturday, dropping a pair of games against the Iowa Park Hawks in a Class 3A series at GlenRoseHigh School.

The Jackets gave up 21 hits in two games against three pitchers and lost 11-1 on Friday and then came back and fell 10-1 on Saturday in Game 2.

Llano senior Isaac Hutto pitched a complete game on Saturday in his final appearance in a Jacket uniform. He scattered 10 hits as the Jackets season ended with a 14-16 mark. IowaPark improved to 27-3 to advance and took advantage of five Jacket errors on Saturday.

Holden Simpson and Taylor Sorenson pitched in Friday’s loss and gave up 11 hits.

Llano had 13 hits of offense in the series.

IowaPark advances to the third round.

Llano was the second place team in District 8-3A and beat Venus in the bi-district series after dropping the opener.
