MarbleFalls’ new defensive coordinator is Chad Bishop.
Bishop was among the four coaches hired to coach Matt Green’s staff this week.
Bishop comes to MarbleFalls from Lucas Lovejoy, where he worked the last two years on Green’s staff at the CollinCounty school.
“He was the right hand man of the defensive coordinator,’’ Green said.
Bishop coached the safeties at Lovejoy.
Robbie Coplin, who worked with Green for five years in stops at Stephenville and LakeTravis, was also among the new hires. Coplin will be the co-offensive coordinator and will coach wide receivers at Marble Falls.
Chuck Cook, who also comes from LakeTravis, will also be a wide receivers coach for the Mustangs.
The fourth addition to the staff is offensive line coach Blake Nesrsta, a Marble Falls High School graduate. Nesrsta comes from Houston Bellaire.
Green said he has four or five more spots to fill on the staff.
“We’re going to get some good coaches in here,’’ Green said. “Starting over is a good thing. We’re all working to be the best we can be.’’
Marble Falls football athletes are working on strength and conditioning drills on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays this summer. The players have six weeks of the drills and enter their third week Monday.
