Matt Green said Wednesday that he can’t wait to get on the job at Marble Falls.
The 37-year-old has 13 years experience as a coach and two years as a head coach at Lucas Lovejoy.
He comes to Marble Falls as a respected, up-and-coming coach that will bring a dynamic offensive philosophy that he has learned while coaching at stops in Azle, Stephenville, LakeTravis as an assistant.
In two seasons at Lovejoy, a Class 4A team the last two years near LakeLavon in Collin County, his teams have won 19 games and lost just five times. They made the playoffs both seasons.
“I have been very blessed to work with some great coaches at the places I’ve been,’’ Green said. “Everywhere you coach has its challenges and there will be some challenges, I know that.’’
Marble Falls Independent School District Superintendent Rob O’Connor said he’ll recommend Green as the new head football coach and athletic director at Monday’s school board meeting.
The job came open when Todd Dodge left Marble Falls May 2 to accept the Westlake High School job.
