On May 29, a woman and a boy died after the two went swimming in Lake Buchanan, according to Llano County Sheriff's Office.
The incident was reported around 8:11 p.m. in the 500 Block of Panorama Drive in Buchanan Dam, the press release stated.
Responding agencies were Llano County Sheriff's Office deputies, Texas Parks and Wildlife game wardens and Buchanan Dam Fire Department.
The drowning victims were identified as the Stacy Burke, 39, and Jack Burke, 4, of Buchanan Dam.
“The two went swimming in the Greenwood Acres Subdivision on Lake Buchanan,” the release stated. “Jack was found by residents on Panorama Drive.”
The child was was transported to Ascension Seton Highland Lakes hospital in Burnet and was pronounced deceased a short time later, authorities reported.
At approximately 9:05 p.m., Stacy Burke's body was recovered about 30 yards off the shore of Lake Buchanan, according to investigators.
She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
