| On Sept. 17, Boy Scouts and adult leaders from Troop 284 gathered at the Marble Falls Volunteer Fire Department to respectfully retire more than 40 worn and tattered flags from around the community. According to the United States Flag Code, "The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning." Members of the Volunteer Fire Department were on hand to monitor the flag retirement ceremony. |
