C’Shores sets contest for city slogan

October 08, 2012, 9:00 pm by Alexandria Randolph

The Cottonwood Shores City Council wants their residents to help them choose a slogan for the city.

The winner will get a free lunch and residents get to vote on their Nov. 1 water bills.

The idea of a slogan was introduced by City Secretary Sheila Moore and City Treasurer Vickie Reinhardt.

"We felt that the city needed a slogan, something to set it apart from other cities,” Moore said during the meeting. "Doing research on the internet, (we found) that most cities have a slogan. Several forms that I’ve had to fill out have asked for our city slogan, and we don’t have one.”

Moore and Reinhardt made a recommendation and presented four alternate options for the council.

"Our recommendation is ‘What is a City, but the People.’ We feel that it works, but we had to provide options,” Moore said.
