Sales tax generation in Llano County is up 24 percent for the same time period last year while Burnet County is down for the month, according to figures released by Texas State Comptroller Susan Combs. Llano County will receive $86,165.73 in sales tax revenue for October, up from $69,021.97 received in October 2011. For the year, Llano County has received 9.48 percent more than they did in the whole of 2011. Burnet County has generated 2.48 percent more this year than last, and October sales tax revenue is down from $767,053.95 in 2011 to $762,771.17. The City of Llano is a big contributor to the sales tax increase for its county, generating $83,098.09 of revenue in October, which is 24.51 percent more than this time last year. Sunrise Beach has also seen a significant increase, with $3,067.64 generated last month compared to $2,286.78 last year. For more of this story, see Tuesday's Highlander. |
