Holiday productions spread cheer

November 26, 2012, 9:00 pm by Alexandria Randolph

During the month of December, the Marble Falls First Baptist Church will be hosting "The Christmas Post” musical and the Harmony School of Creative Arts will be showing the "Fantasy Nutcracker” ballet.

"The Christmas Post” will be performed on Friday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m., and Saturday Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The play is free to the public, but seating is limited, so attendees are asked to pick up their free tickets at the First Baptist Church on Twelfth St. at least a few days in advance. "The Christmas Post” is set in the 1940s and based on the painting "The Christmas Post” by Norman Rockwell, a famous mid-20th century artist whose work was found in popular newspapers and advertisements.

"In the 1940s and 1950s, Rockwell’s paintings were on the Saturday Evening Post,” said Ginger Chuter, member of Marble Falls First Baptist Church. "This is more than just a musical — it’s a Broadway style production.”
