Horseshoe Bay Resort up for sale

The Horseshoe Bay Resort, resort amenities and owned real estate has been put on the market by the ownership group.

Douglas Jaffe Sr. confirmed late Wednesday afternoon that the multi-million dollar resort was for sale, and the transaction is being handled by nationwide realty firm Holliday Fenoglio Fowler, L.P. (HFF).

"We’re really looking forward to the next chapter,” Jaffe said.

In a press release, HFF said the owners of the resort had received offers from all over the world as the economic recovery has gained momentum. HFF said over the last 10 years, more than $100 million has been invested into the resort, which hosts a Marriott hotel, a yacht club and marina, four championship golf courses and an airport.

"It’s a very significant moment,” Horseshoe Bay Mayor Bob Lambert said Wednesday evening. "The Jaffe family has been in Horseshoe Bay for many years. They will be missed. The future is uncertain as to who the new owners might be.”
