Left turn lane blocked, 281 traffic backed up
Southbound traffic at 4:30 p.m. on Friday was backed up from the traffic light at the 281-2147 intersection south of the bridge all the way across the lake. Part of the reason is a barrier that blocks the left turn lane.

The left turn lane on US 281 south at the stoplight after the bridge has been blocked off as construction crews continue working on the bridge.

The lane was cordoned off by a concrete barrier last night. As a result, traffic could, at times, back up more than usual and it could take more time to get through the 281 and FM 2147 intersection. The barrier will remain there until Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.

Archer Western construction crews are currently doing work on the center two lanes of each bridge. They will switch all four lanes of traffic, two northbound and two southbound, to the new bridge in February while the old bridge is demolished and replaced with a new one.
