MF cruises past Crockett

January 30, 2013, 11:00 am by Adam Troxtell

With the clock ticking down to the start of district games, the Marble Falls High School soccer team got a momentum boost with a 4-1 win over Crockett High School (Austin) Tuesday night.

The Mustangs secured the win with two goals either side of halftime in a match they, for the most part, dominated. Four different players got on the score sheet for Marble Falls, and junior Asir Riojas opened the scoring just seven minutes into the game. Senior Misael Garcia made it 2-0 Mustangs before halftime, while fellow seniors Danny Osorio and Dago Galvan completed the rout.

Crockett’s only consolation came within a minute of the start of the second half through Jose Salinas, but it was all the Cougar’s could manage on a cool, blustery night at Mustang Stadium.

The win takes Marble Falls’s record to 8-3-1 on the season with one non-district game left against Fredericksburg at home this Friday.
