Tony Salazar, the defensive coordinator and assistant head coach for the Leander Lions the past four seasons, is joining the Marble Falls football program.

Todd Dodge, the Marble Falls athletic director and head football coach, said he cast a big net in a search of a defensive coordinator to guide the Mustangs defense into the future.

Salazar signed his contract Wednesday and will start in Marble Falls Feb. 18. Dodge said the hiring of Salazar, known for his stingy defenses that gave up just seven points per game through the 10-game regular season last year, is an ideal fit.
