Schultz joins elite class of Hill Country builders
Joseph Schultz
Joseph Schultz of Schultz Construction in Burnet has recently completed the most elite designation in the field of residential construction.

He has earned the right to use the appellation of Graduate Master Builder (GMB) to the end of his name and his company’s name. Schultz already carries with pride the Certified Green Professional (CGP) appellation.

The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) produces and administers the only residential certification program for building professionals in the nation. Their "Designation” program is designed to assess and teach expertise in the most serious and progressive professionals in the building industry; including estimating, project management, sales and marketing, land development, building science and dozens of other competency courses.

The ultimate symbol of the building professional, the Graduate Master Builder (GMB) designation is for experienced veterans only. Before beginning the GMB designation process, a builder must have previously completed at least two other designations in building or remodeling and have ten years of building experience. GMB courses are more advanced with in-depth instruction geared for experienced building professionals.

Only 223 Graduate Master Builders reside in Texas, and with a highly competitive marketplace in challenging economic recovery for the building industry, this designation is critical for differentiating your construction business from less qualified contractors.

A member of the Hill Country Builders Association (HCBA), Schultz began building in Burnet in 1987, and focuses on the integrity and quality of building rather than quantity and profit. Schultz prides himself as a true custom builder and remodeler working through a craftsmanship process with his "hands on” work impacting every aspect of a complex project.

Selling value mirrors Schultz’s Christian values as his life and volunteer work represent. He is currently on the Board of "Hope for Haiti,” a Christian organization that helps to rebuild Haitian homes and villages. He is Past President of The Deer Creek Village POA and an 8 year member of the NAHB, Texas Association of Builders and the HCBA. A past Parade Builder, Schultz is more comfortable showing his craftsmanship than marketing to wide audiences.

Each builder builds a personally designed home as if they were going to buy it themselves. That is why customers of Schultz Construction can expect the high value concept in their home, not a fast built home intended to turn a profit for the builder.

Schultz Construction aspires to add the Certified Aging In Place Specialist (CAPS) designation to his advanced education in 2013. This program focuses on helping active aging home owners to adapt their home and lifestyle to stay in their home as long as possible with the highest amount of function and freedom. Schultz can be reached at his office in Burnet at 830.385.1084 and more information on the NAHB Designation Program can be attained at the HCBA office in Marble Falls at 830.798.2266.
