Area gets 1-2 inches of rain

September 30, 2012, 8:00 am by Phil Schoch

While a few thunderstorms rolled through the Highland Lakes Saturday, predictions of heavy rains fell short of expectations.
The Llano and Kingsland area recorded anywhere from an inch to 2 inches of rain Saturday, while the Lower Colorado River Authority showed Round Mountain with almost 2 inches and Marble Falls and Burnet with a inch or more.
The Lake Buchanan basin also received the welcome news of 2 or more inches in several locations.
The forecast Sunday is for partly cloudy skies. Sunny, dry and mild weather is forecast this week with highs in the low to mid 80s.
The LCRA showed these 48-hour rainfall totals as of 8 a.m. Sunday:
Backbone Creek at Marble Falls: 1.2
Sandy Creek near KIngsland: 2.31
Pedernales River near Johnson City: 2.5
Llano River near Llano: 1.26
Colorado River near Bend: 1.63
Colorado River near San Saba: 2.14
