Early voting shows mixed resultsOctober 25, 2012, 8:00 pm by Adam Troxtell
Early voting numbers in Llano County appear to be ahead of the same time in the 2008 presidential election, while the ballots in Burnet are slightly lower, according to numbers released Thursday. As of Wednesday, 3,152 ballots had been cast in Burnet County since early voting began Oct. 22, which is about 12 percent of the 26,000 total registered voters in the county. The numbers are slightly lower than 2008 election numbers, when 3, 201 had voted in the first three days. In Llano County, 2,465 ballots out of over 14,000 registered voters have been cast in the first three days, compared to about 5,000 total early voters in 2008. No numbers were available to compare the first three days now to 2008. Along with presidential, congressional and state representative elections, various Highland Lakes communities have propositions on the ballot, which may impact voting totals. For all the races, see Friday's Highlander.
