Manhunt in Kingsland for burglary suspects

December 03, 2012, 11:11 am by Alexandria Randolph

Llano County Sheriffs Deputies went in pursuit of two burglary suspects after a call came in about suspicious activity near the intersection of RR 1431 and Slab Rd. in Kingsland.

At around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, 911 dispatchers clamed that a man who lived in a trailer house behind a storage unit called to report two individuals who appeared to be attempting to break into the sheds. Llano County Sheriffs Deputies responded to the scene and discovered vandalized storage units and also recovered a pickup truck that had been reported stolen in Williamson County on Friday.

Deputies went in pursuit of two suspects who had reported fled on foot, said Llano County Sheriff Bill Blackburn. At 8:30 p.m. after night had fallen, dispatch called for a DPS helicopter with thermal imaging to aid in the search, however the helicopter was preoccupied with a similar search in northern Burnet County, and reported that they would not be able to arrive in Kingsland for another hour. Deputies ended the search not long after, Blackburn said.
