Woman faces 6 counts of fraud

December 17, 2012, 10:00 pm by Alexandria Randolph

A Missouri woman turned herself into Burnet County Jail on Dec. 2 following her missed court date for proceedings on fraud charges.

Gail Millikan, 54, of Farmington, Mo. was charged with four counts of credit card abuse and two counts of forgery in a series of incidents dating as early as December 2009. She had been arrested by Bertram police after the daughter of the alleged victim discovered that $2,400 of unauthorized purchases had appeared on her mother’s bank account.

Millikan had reportedly been living with the 76-year-old retired Bertram woman and had been placed there by an undisclosed Marble Falls church, which arranged assistance for people in need of work and housing.

According to a statement made by former Bertram Police Chief David Caudle in 2010, Millikan had also attempted to use the victim’s credit card in Lampasas, but the $1,000 transaction failed.
