S&W to offer cancer treatment here
The Scott and White hospital under construction near the intersection of US 281 and TX 71 will have cancer treatment available as soon as spring 2013 when the clinic is scheduled to be complete. The complete medical center is expected to be complete in 2014.

Cancer treatment services will begin to be offered at the Scott & White Hurd Regional Medical Center’s specialty clinic in southern Marble Falls when it opens in June 2013, officials announced Christmas Eve.

The oncology treatment services – which will be housed on the third floor of the clinic being built near the intersection of US 281 and TX 71 – will initially include a waiting and check-in area, six infusion bays, including an isolation bay, infusion pharmacy, and three exam rooms.

With adjacent shell space, this allows for additional expansion in the future based on patient needs. Phase II of the cancer services rollout is expected to include radiation therapy.

"Bringing oncology services to our community reaffirms our commitment to the regional medical center and being responsive to the needs of our current and future patients,” said Kevin Leeper, CEO of the Scott & White Hill Country Region and chief operating officer of the Hill Country clinics.
