MF School Board reports positive improvement in attendance, test scores

February 18, 2013, 9:15 pm by Alexandria Randolph

Marble Falls ISD Board of Trustees received a positive report for 2012 attendance and STAAR scores during a meeting Monday night.

Assessment and Accountability Coordinator Melissa Fields relayed an Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS) report that yielded positive improvements in TAKS scoring.

With the exception of tenth grade social studies, which saw a decrease of six percent on district wide scores, TAKS scores showed improvements across the board, with improvements of up to 33 percent.

A higher attendance rate in 2012 was also reported.

"There was no drop out rate at the middle school and overall both our high school campuses saw a decrease in the drop out rate of about .6 percent,” Fields said.

Spicewood Elementary was the only school with a consistent decrease in attendance rates, but only by .9 percent at highest.
