County fills ESD seats; burn ban on

February 26, 2013, 10:00 pm by Lyn Odom

Commissioners Monday accepted resignations and appointed members to the Llano County Emergency Services Dispatch Board, tabled the burn ban and heard from the Texas Housing Authority.

With the high winds and drought conditions continuing Llano County commissioners tabled taking any action on the current burn ban, which currently isn’t set to expire until April 28. However, just an hour or so after court, emergency crews were dispatched to Houston St. in Kingsland where someone had touched off a large brush pile. It was quickly contained, but a water truck was called in to put the fire completely out.

Violating the countywide no-open fires ban is a Class C misdemeanor with a $500 maximum fine.
