Gateway area sees brief power blackout

The Gateway area in south Marble Falls lost power for several hours early Friday morning due to what the Pedernales Electric Cooperative called mechanical failure.

PEC officials said about 4 a.m. Friday, PEC crews became aware of power outages to 250 electric meters in the Gateway subdivision near US 281 and RR 2147.

"After patrolling the line, the crew determined that a piece of equipment needed to be replaced for mechanical reasons,” said Anne Harvey, Communications Manager at PEC.
