Everything just gets better for Mike Richardson.

On Thursday, Marble Falls’ Johnson-Sewell Ford Lincoln auto dealership honored the Mustangs senior quarterback at halftime of the junior varsity football game at Mustang Stadium with the Built Ford Tough award.

Richardson was given two plaques in his honor — one for the school, the other to him after graduation — naming him as the Built Ford Tough High School Player of the Week for his Class 4A performance on Sept. 20 against Boerne Champion at Boerne ISD Stadium.

He set the state record that night for passing yards in a game with 724 yards on 35 completions in 45 attempts. He had seven touchdown passes and out-dueled Boerne Champion’s Kye Poeske in a 62-55 non-district victory.

Thursday night, Johnson Sewell general manager Tom Kendall presented the trophy in the shape of the state of Texas to Richardson.
