Reader Comments Those folks wont get anything that they dont already have.Except maybe wastewater lines and thats only if the city feels IT wants to spend the money to install them.Plus will want to charge those folks to connect.. In 2008 they did an Involuntary annexation to the lake marble falls Subdivision and After over 4 years there is still not One thing that has been done. No water,No wastewater,no roads. nada,Zilch. There are ALOT of high dollar homes in Los Escondidos. The city sees tax dollars and nothing more. If the city goes ahead and annexes the Escondido area, residents will get nothing but a tax bill. Exactly how does the city plan to provide anything -- streets, sewer lines, or abetter water system -- when there is a long list of needs and projects needed within the existing city limits that are "no go" because of "no dough"?
With land as expensive as it is along the river, the city manager doesn't need to spend a lot of time worrying about whether this neighboring area will drag down the image of Marble Falls. No one is buying half-million dollar lots there to build metal sheds on them.
Residents of Ecsondido need to rally together to oppose this move to take their money and give them nothing! |
