In response to an increased public outcry, Marble Falls has scheduled a town hall meeting tonight at 6 p.m. so city officials and citizens can discuss property and nuisance ordinance changes.

Last month, citizens filled council chambers on the very night the amendments – which cover restrictions on the parking of service and recreational vehicles, furniture in front yards, and lawn maintenance – could have been passed by council members. City council is divided on the issue and decided to continue the amendments to an undetermined date. They requested a town hall meeting and a workshop be organized before the changes were presented to them for approval again.

Tonight’s meeting at Lakeside Pavilion allows citizens the opportunity to voice their concerns as officials continue to make changes to amendments that were first proposed over a year ago.

Well, tonight's meeting was a joke. They held the meeting because they said they would, but it was very evident that they intend to do what they set out to do, which is violate our rights and tell us how to use our property that we pay for and pay taxes on. The Council is set to vote on the final amendments on October 16th, at which time they will slide all of their bs rules through and we will have no choice but to live with them. I'm looking to move out of the city...somewhere with less rules and much lower taxes!

OK Public, this is your chance voice your opinion. If you do not show up, you will have to live with city hall telling what you can place in YOUR yard, where and what you can park in YOUR driveway, where YOUR kids can play and WHEN you will have to mowe YOUR yard!!!
