Search on for missing Great PyreneesSeptember 25, 2012, 8:00 pm by James Walker
Easily. And often. "Marcus was just a big old friendly indoor dog,” said Blaylock of her seven-year-old canine buddy who disappeared Aug. 29 shortly after being let out to exercise and take care of his business near Blaylock’s home on CR 334. "My husband is a merchant marine and we’ve moved around a lot and wherever we’ve lived we’ve always let Marcus go out to stretch his legs and he’s always stayed close and came right back,” Blaylock said. Only this time, he did not return and Blaylock has not been able to find him. She believes Marcus has been stolen, Blaylock said. "He was just a big old friendly dog and probably would go with anyone,’ she said. That’s why she is determined to generate as much publicity as possible about Marcus. "If enough information gets out there, maybe it will cause someone to remember seeing a neighbor or someone else who recently acquired a mature Pyrenees,” Blaylock said. Anyone with information about Marcus can call Blaylock at 512.755.6870. For the full story, see Wednesday’s Bulletin. Reader CommentsWe have a Anatolian (country of present day Turkey) great Pyrenees, named Jake (after John Wayne's Western movie) who tends to wander in our subdivision of Eagles Nest. It is just in their DNA to wonder, very lovable. They are very cautious & will not go with anyone. He will come back unless he sees a flock of sheep or goats and he will stay with them to guard them. Best wishes, Will & Kathy M |
