The Marble Falls Lady Mustang volleyball team took third in the Pure Energy Tournament in Killeen over the weekend.

The Lady Mustangs beat Killeen Ellison in the third place game, 25-19, 15-25, 25-22.

The Lady Mustangs conquered "the beat a team a third time stigma’’ by defeating Manor for the third time in 10 days, placing the Ladies in the championship bracket for the day.

In the second round, the Lady Mustangs were pitted against the Harker Heights Scarlettes in a literal swing fest to the end. The Lady Mustangs were not able to defeat the Scarlettes, and moved on to third and fourth place games. Harker Heights won, 25-20, 25-16.

Marble Falls stopped Manor in the first round, 21-25, 25-22, 25-23.

The junior varsity and freshmen teams took wins in Austin against Ann Richards High School.
