The Faith Academy Flames remained undefeated in their first season of 11-man football Friday night, routing John Paul II High School of Schertz, 53-20, before a rain-soaked Homecoming crowd at Marble Falls Middle School field.

The 4-0 Flames built a 30-0 lead in the game's first 20 minutes on two touchdown runs by Jason Byrd, one by Seth McAnally, a touchdown pass from Byrd to Brian Freeman and four Freeman extra points and a two-point conversion by McAnally.

The Flames close out their non-district schedule next week in San Antonio at 7:30 p.m. against St. Gerard's.
