Winnie Kincheloe April 19, 1927 ~ Sept. 23, 2012September 14, 2012, 9:02 am by Staff Reports
She was born to Tillie Lynn Spillers and Rex Spillers. She grew up, went to school, and lived her entire life in Burnet. Winnie worked for the Fry Drugstore on the Burnet square, LCRA, and then had a 32 year career with the local phone company. She married D.C., "Chester” Kincheloe in the spring of 1951 and adopted her only child, Dennis in Dec. 1958. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister and recently by her beloved husband of 60 years. She is survived by her sister Jo Newton; her son Dennis Kincheloe and his wife Kim; her grandchildren: Kyra, Danton and Zane; and many nieces, nephews and cousins living in the central Texas area. Winnie loved relaxing at home, keeping tabs on her husband and her son, getting her hair done, playing bingo, eating at Catfish Parlour and drinking ice cold Coca-Cola but ONLY out of the original glass bottle. She will be missed here with us, but is probably back with Chester ruling the roost once again! The funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 26 at the Edgar Funeral Home Chapel, 109 North Main in Burnet, with Pastor Mark Newton officiating. Interment was at the Post Mountain Cemetery immediately following the service. Condolences may be made to Winnie’s family at www.edgarfh.com. |
