Donald Harned passed away on Oct. 5. He was born on April 6, 1929 in Llano to C.A. and Jessie Harned. He was married to the love of his life, Evelyn Harned, on Sept. 11, 1949. Don retired from Union Carbide after 20 years as a pipe fitter. He served in the United States Marine Corp and was also a Master Mason.
Harned grew up hunting and fishing in the Texas Hill Country with his dad and cousins and brought that love for the outdoors with him to the coast. He passed that love on to his children and
grandchildren. The only thing he enjoyed more was spending time with and taking care of his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by wife, Evelyn Harned; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Harned; and his parents. He is survived by daughter Donna and husband Jim Cobble of Seadrift, Texas; son Darrell and wife Ginny Harned of Corpus Christi; son Stephen Harned of Richmond, Texas; grandchildren Jeremy and wife Allison Harned, Kassie Harned, James and wife Katie Cobble; great-grandson, Todd Harned; his sisters and brothers-in-law; a large number of nieces and nephews; and many
cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 8, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Seadrift, Texas.
Visitation was held Oct. 8 at 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home in Llano.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 9 at Wright’s Creek Cemetery at 10 a.m. with Rev. Danny Meegan officiating.
Funeral arrangements made under the direction of Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Homes, Inc. Llano.
