Elmer Lee Beam Mar. 1, 1931 ~ Oct. 8, 2012
Elmer Lee Beam, age 81, of Marble Falls, passed away Oct. 8. He was born Mar. 1, 1931 in Claremont, Texas, to Clyde and Emma (Tatum) Beam. He married Lillian Faye Glasgow on April 20, 1996.
He is survived by wife Faye; son Roger Beam and wife Betty Murray; daughters Freda Herrera and husband Leonard, Ann Ward and husband Jimmy, Ruth Zwicker and husband Calvin, Judy Jowers and husband Dennis, and Tammy Carpenter and husband Jack; step-daughters Jolean Barnet and husband Russel, and Gailyn Palmer; 15 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Tuesday, Oct. 9, from 5-7 p.m. at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 2 p.m. at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Womack and Rev. Bob Weis officiating. Interment will follow at Marble Falls City Cemetery. Pallbearers are Roger Fry, Hank Fry, Jimmy Ward, Cody Beam, Spencer Jowers, and Sterlin Zwicker.
Beam came to Marble Falls in 1961 and worked as a farmer. Later he worked at Texas Granite for 27 years as an explosive expert. He loved to hunt and fish.
He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Marble Falls.
