James Lloyd Spidle Sept. 24, 1928 ~ Oct. 12, 2012October 03, 2012, 10:10 am by Staff Reports
He was born Sept. 24, 1928 to Omada (Norwood) and James Spidle in Many, La., and was raised in Texas. Spindle married Carolyn June 7, 1949 in Beaumont, Texas, and attended Lamar Jr. College in Beaumont. He later attended Baylor University graduating with a Bachelor of Science; then received his M.D. at University of Texas-Galveston. He was a General Practitioner in Southeast Texas before moving to Austin. James did his Pathology Residency in Austin and served as Chief of Pathology at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin. Upon retirement, he and Carolyn moved to Buchanan Dam. He was a member of Highland Lakes United Methodist Church. James is survived by his wife of 63 years Mary Carolyn Spidle of Bluffton, and daughter Jamie Elizabeth Spidle of Los Angeles. Graveside services will be held at Bluffton Cemetery 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, with Reverend Grady Roe officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Highland Lakes United Methodist Church.
