He was born Aug. 21, 1947, in San Antonio to John and Amy Brown Haynes. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Haynes spent many years working in the oil fields of West Texas and later owned a construction company.
He enjoyed collecting guns and knives, watching Texas Longhorn football and science fiction movies. Haynes married Melba in Burnet and they were married for 44 years.
Haynes is survived by wife Melba; daughters and sons-in-law Christy Oliver and husband Terry
of Cedar Park, and Stacey Soulas and husband Hector of Corpus Christi, and daughter-in-law Sheila Haynes of Burnet; brothers Bruce Haynes of Burnet, and Mike Haynes and wife Kathy
of Bertram; sisters Andrea Tomerlin of Burnet, and Sara Moses and husband Donnie of Dawson, Texas; and grandchildren Brittany Lynch, Hector Soulas III, Paige Oliver, Kansas Sky Haynes, and McKenzie Oliver. He is preceded in death by his parents and a grandson Sean Haynes.
A memorial service will be held at the Haynes family cemetery Saturday, Nov. 3 at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association, donate.americanheart.org, or the American Diabetes Association, Tribute@diabetes.org.
