Everett Truman Howard Aug. 16, 1913 ~ Oct. 24, 2012

Everett Truman Howard, 99, a lifelong resident of Burnet County, and was born on Aug. 16, 1913 to Eli and Ollie Olivia (Harris) Howard in Bertram. Howard passed away on Oct. 24, at Hearthstone, a Senior Care Facility in Round Rock.
He married Essie Marie Chandler Ischy on Feb. 15, 1946 in Travis County. Howard was a rock, brick, and tile mason, and the owner and operator of Creative Iron Works. He was all about building, creating, and improving the quality of life of people around him. Although he earned a reputation as a master craftsman, his most lasting legacy was his genuine love and care for all of his family and friends.
He is survived by sons Thomas and wife Glenda Ischy of Bertram, Ronnie and Juanita Ischy of Lampasas, Lynn and Wendy Howard of Round Rock, and Glenn (Buster) and Vicky Howard of Pilot Point, Texas sisters Mattie Maude Davis and Dorothy Lee Chandler; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and a large extended family.
He is also survived by a very special friend, Dorothy O’Neal, whom he met at Hearthstone in Round Rock.
Howard is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Essie Marie Howard, who passed away on November 3, 2005; his beloved daughter Kathy Howard Roberts who died by auto accident on July 19, 1978; and sisters Rubie Jewel, Lorena, Laura Hazel, and Jonnie Kate. Son and Rev. Glenn (Buster) Howard officiated the funeral and the graveside services. Funeral services were held at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet, on Oct. 27, at 10 a.m. Burial followed at New Hope Cemetery in Cedar Park.
All who attended were comforted through the Gospel songs "Amazing Grace”, The Old Rugged Cross”, and "I’m on the Other Side of Life, Now”. A tribute to Howard was given as a father whose love would not let you down, whose love would not let you off, and whose love would not let you go. Everett was deeply loved by his family and many friends.
