Jo Ann Grimes Goetz July 27, 1935 ~ Dec. 25, 2012December 19, 2012, 9:00 am by Staff Reports
She was born July 27, 1935 in Tulsa, Okla., to Oscar and Velva Grimes. Raised in Tulsa, She learned to play golf at an early age and won the 1953 Oklahoma Girls Championship. In later years, she would win club championships in Longview, Dallas and Horseshoe Bay. She met her future husband, Bob, at Oklahoma A&M and graduated from there in 1957. Whether in a Bible class, on the golf course, at a party and especially at family gatherings, Goetz leaves a wonderful memory for her friends and family. Her death on Christmas Day enhances our memories of her. She was a special gift to all of us. She lived well, died well and will always bring back a smile to those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving husband of over 55 years, Bob; daughters Jennifer Goetz of Boerne, and Teresa Goetz of San Antonio; and sister Mary Nagode, of Atlanta, Ga. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Jan. 8, 2013 at the Church at Horseshoe Bay. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Wounded Warriors of Texas, Glenhaven Youth Camp or the charity of your choice. Reader CommentsJo Ann was the epitomy of a lovely, genteel
lady! As her long time friends, Jerry Ann and I know she is in Glory with her Lord and
leaves us with treasured memories of her
beautiful life...Fondly,
I
