Mildred Fern Hood, 86, longtime Pearland resident, passed away peacefully on Christmas morning.
Hood was born March 18, 1926 to Lewis and Clara Rutherford in Pearland. Married to Claude Hood for 53 years, he preceded her in death in 1997.
Survivors include sons Presley, Lesley and wife Nancy, and Timothy and wife Julie; grandchildren Kimberly, Timothy, Kenneth, Sarah, Jeremy, Amy, Andrew, and Paige; and great-grandchildren David, Nicholas, Ethan, Miles, Emmanuelle, McKenzie, and Ian; and numerous other relatives.
Visitation was held Friday, Dec. 28, 6-9 p.m. at South Park Funeral Home, 1310 North Main Street in Pearland.
Graveside services were Saturday, Dec. 29, at noon at South Park Cemetery in Pearland. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Africa Inland Mission, PO Box 3611, Peachtree City, GA, 30269-7611 for the benefit of Sarah Hood.
