Rosa Mirl Haydon Nov. 7, 1913 ~ Dec. 28, 2012
Mirl Haydon, 99, of Buchanan Dam, passed away on Dec. 28. She was born on Nov. 7, 1913 in Jollyville, Texas. She married Bill Haydon on Aug. 10, 1935. They lived in Austin until they retired in 1981 and moved to Buchanan Dam. She was a member of the Highland Lakes Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Bill; parents Willie and Ella Ward; brothers Richard and Marvin; and sister Hazel Lackey.
Haydon is survived by son Craig and wife Claudia of Horseshoe Bay; children Scott and wife Leslie of Austin, Blake and wife Kim of Frisco, Texas, Brett of Dallas, Sean of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Alyson Woodard and husband Ben of San Antonio; seven beautiful great-grandchildren; and sister, Zella Placker of Smithwick.
Haydon will always be remembered by family and friends as a friendly, feisty, warm and caring person who had a smile and a tale to tell everyone she met.
Visitation was held at noon on Wednesday, Jan. 2 at the Cook Walden Chapel of the Hills, 9700 Anderson Mill Road in Austin. The funeral service immediately followed at 1 p.m., and burial was at Bagdad Cemetery in Leander. Memorial contributions may be made to Seton Highland
