Junior golfer paces Lady Mustangs young team

Marble Falls junior Amy Hendrix shot personal tournament best rounds of 92 and 91 to lead the Lady Mustangs at the Marble Falls Spring Classic golf tournament Friday and Saturday.

Hendrix closed with a 91 on Horseshoe Bay’s Slick Rock golf course to pace the Lady Mustangs, who had 10 golfers in the field. Hendrix had a 92 at Meadowlakes’ Hidden Falls course on Friday.

Marble Falls loses another chance to clinch

Marble Falls dropped its second straight chance to clinch a playoff in District 25-4A girls basketball Friday night, falling 57-46 to the Vandegrift Vipers at Max Copeland Gym.

Marble Falls (19-13, 5-6) falls into two-way tie with Cedar Park for fourth place in the district.

Cedar Park, which Marble Falls beat a week ago, climbed to 5-6 in district Friday night with a 56-44 win over Rouse.

Mustangs fall on road at Cedar Park

 Cedar Park’s Timberwolves held Marble Falls without a double-figure scorer and hand the Mustangs a 62-45 loss in District 25-4A play Friday at Cedar Park High School.

Collin Edwards scored eight points to lead the Mustangs attack.

Marble Falls fell to 2-5 in district play.

Lady Mustangs secure key win over Cedar Park

Marble Falls rallied from an 11-point deficit to beat Cedar Park in overtime Friday night and put the Lady Mustangs in prime shape to make the girls’ basketball playoffs.

Marble Falls outscored Cedar Park 10-8 in overtime to come away with a 57-55 victory in the District 25-4A game at Max Copeland Gym.

Marble Falls soccer carries 6-2-1 record

The Marble Falls soccer team took on Copperas Cove Tuesday evening on the road.

The team is 6-2-1 on the season going into the non-district match. The Mustangs went 2-2-1 last week in the Stephenville Tournament.

Marble Falls is 18-10 overall and 4-3 in District 25-4A. They play the 21-8 Leander Lady Lions Friday at Max Copeland Gym.Leander is 4-2 in district with its only losses to Vista Ridge and Cedar Park.
