Olympic silver medalist Leonel Manzano and his family will
be honored at several events in Marble Falls and Granite Shoals in the final
two days of his homecoming celebration, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 29-30.
While it is not known if local runner Leo Manzano’s first
running event of the 2012 Olympics will be shown in full on television,
interested Marble Falls residents and University of Texas fans will have to
wait until prime time to see him on NBC.
Marble Falls runner Leo Manzano’s first race in the 2012
Olympics is 2:05 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3 (Texas time) in London.
The 2004 Marble Falls High graduate and two-time NCAA
champion for the University of Texas is the top American qualifier in the 1,500-meter race,
but Kenyans are considered the favorites in the event.
