Commissioners propose county officials pay increase

During its recent meeting, the Burnet County Commissioners Court revised its plan to raise salaries for most county elected officials during Fiscal Year (FY) 2025, set to begin Oct. 1.

During its recent meeting, the Burnet County Commissioners Court revised its plan to raise salaries for most county elected officials during Fiscal Year (FY) 2025, set to begin Oct. 1.

Previously, during a special meeting Aug. 7, the commissioners proposed officials could receive a pay raise not to exceed $20,000.

To be sure, during its Aug. 13 regular meeting, the commissioners amended base salary targets to a lower annual increase of 6% for the county judge, each one of the four commissioners, the county clerk, the district clerk, each one of the four county justices of the peace, the county attorney, the county treasurer, the county tax assessor/ collector and the sheriff.
