April 4, 1932 —August 24, 2024 Wandalene Boyd Beaird joined her Heavenly Father on August 24, 2024. She was born in Potosi, TX on April 4, 1932, to Ferrell and Fairie Lee Boyd and was raised in Abilene.

Wandalene Boyd Beaird joined her Heavenly Father on August 24, 2024. She was born in Potosi, TX on April 4, 1932, to Ferrell and Fairie Lee Boyd and was raised in Abilene. She married J.C. Beaird on March 6, 1953, in Abilene. They moved to Odessa in 1957 and raised their family there. Wanda— lovingly referred to as ‘Babe’ by her husband—worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. for 25 years and retired in 1987. She attended Aldersgate Abilene Methodist Church.

She loved to travel, spend time with her friends and family, and be with her grandkids, loving playing the role of Granny. A gifted quilter and seamstress, her handiworks will continue to brighten many homes.

She is survived by her sister, Jean Dalton, sisters in love, Iwanda Boyd and Wanda Harris, son, Larry & Tisha Beaird, daughter, Jana & Mark May- field, grandchildren, Seth & Brooke Mayfield, Hannah & Brendan Bean, Emma Beaird, and Jake & Maggie Beaird, greatgrandchildren Luke, Landon & Lawson Bean, and Elijah Mayfield, nieces and nephews (Boyd, Batla, Dalton, West families) and many friends and loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, JC Beaird, and brother, Roger Ferrell Boyd.

We would like to thank Rhonda and the incredible stau at Arbor House Assist ing Living for the love and attention they showed our mom over the last seven years, and Comforts of Home Hospice Care for their help in her final days.

A service was held Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 11:00am at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Abilene, TX. Services were under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buualo Gap Road.
