Granite Shoals city officials pick winning oak tree pic

Back in July, Granite Shoals Mayor Ron Munos issued a proclamation establishing July as Heritage Oak Tree Celebration Month, to inspire admiration and appreciation for the many trees preserved throughout the city.

Back in July, Granite Shoals Mayor Ron Munos issued a proclamation establishing July as Heritage Oak Tree Celebration Month, to inspire admiration and appreciation for the many trees preserved throughout the city. 

He also instituted a photo contest to celebrate the oak trees, inviting photographers to explore the community, use their imaginations and take photos of local oak trees.

“Driving Home after a Long Day,” photographed by Edna Dunger won 1st Place, "Ginny & Max's Tree" by Patty Hanson took 2nd Place, and 3rd Place win went to Alex Dupre's "Daydreaming."
