Back in July, Granite Shoals Mayor Ron Munos issued a proclamation establishing July as Heritage Oak Tree Celebration Month, to inspire admiration and appreciation for the many trees preserved throughout the city.
He also instituted a photo contest to celebrate the oak trees, inviting photographers to explore the community, use their imaginations and take photos of local oak trees.
“Driving Home after a Long Day,” photographed by Edna Dunger won 1st Place, "Ginny & Max's Tree" by Patty Hanson took 2nd Place, and 3rd Place win went to Alex Dupre's "Daydreaming."
