In an undercover sting operation, Granite Shoals police investigators tracked down and arrested an alleged fraud suspect accused of stealing over $100,000 from a 62-year-old resident.
The arrest took place on Saturday, Aug. 24, when the suspect was cornered by police on North Phillips Ranch Road.
The takedown followed an attempted “courier” cash exchange at a residence on Stonecastle Drive. “On the evening of the 21st, we were contacted by a citizen in reference to his money fraudulently being taken from him,” Granite Shoals Police Chief John Ortis told The Highlander.
