The Falls on the Colorado Museum invites the public to a special reception on Saturday, Sept. 21, at 10:30 a.m. The winners of the “Central Texas in Focus: Animals and Wild- flowers Photo Contest" will be announced.

This event will celebrate the photographers who participated in the contest.

Light refreshments will be provided. The event is free and open to the public.

The reception will also feature a presentation by local photographer Martelle Luedecke, who will offer insights on the contest theme, “Animals and Central Texas Wildflowers."

Luedecke will share her perspective on how photographers can creatively explore this theme, working with the region’s unique landscape and wildlife.

“We’re excited to showcase the amazing work of local photographers,” said Amanda Seim, chairman of the Falls on the Colorado Museum.

“This reception is not only a chance to announce the winners but also to re- flect on the artistic process behind the images.”

Winners of the pho- to contest are selected through a combination of public voting (50%) and a judging panel (50%).

The 12 winning photographs will be featured in the museum’s 2025 calendar, with winners receiving a free copy of the calendar and a ticket to the museum’s annual Christmas Home Tour.

The “Central Texas in Focus” exhibit, featuring all contest entries, will remain open for public viewing after the reception for an additional two weeks.
