Preparation begins for HHW event

Burnet County Reuse and Recycle Center has scheduled a Household Waste (HHW) Collection Event to recycle household waste for Saturday, Oct. 19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 2411 FM 963 (2 miles east of U.S. 281).

Burnet County Reuse and Recycle Center has scheduled a Household Waste (HHW) Collection Event to recycle household waste for Saturday, Oct. 19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 2411 FM 963 (2 miles east of U.S. 281).

Only residential items will be accepted; no industrial, commercial or business waste is acceptable.

Please bring: Automobile tires (24” or less, no rims); first 10 tires are free, $3 per tire after; lead-acid and rechargeable batteries; cell phones and telephones; computer components and parts; televisions (no wooden consoles); used motor oil and filters; latex painting; petroleum-based paints, stains and varnishes; antifreeze; household hazardous chemicals; compressed gas cylinders; aerosols and camp stove propane; fluorescent lamp bulbs; transmission and brake fluid; pool chem icals; lawn and garden chemicals; scrap metal.
