Clear out the filing cabinets; PEC to host Shred Day

Those who attend can bring up to five boxes of paper for shredding. This includes white or colored paper, stapled or Scotch-taped pages, and paper envelopes with plastic windows. Contributed photos

The Highland Lakes community is invited to attend a free event in recognition of Cybersecurity Awareness Month this October.

The Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) will host a community shred day Oct. 16 from noon to 2 p.m. The event is free, open to the public, and will be held at PEC’s Marble Falls of- fice at 4302 N. U.S. 281.

Those who attend can bring up to five boxes of paper for shredding. This includes white or colored paper, stapled or Scotchtaped pages, and paper envelopes with plastic windows. Items not accepted include paper with packing tape, cardboard, binders, hanging files, newspapers, magazines, plastics, Styrofoam, electronics, or batteries.
