Recent rains have helped local water supply

With fall upon us and hopefully bringing some cooler temperatures with it, I would like to review this past summer with you. Even though we had a 108.3° day in Au - gust, this past summer was slightly cooler than last year, with only sev- en days exceeding 100°. This compares to 56 100° days last summer.

Last year, we had nearly a record-setting 14 days in a row with tem- peratures exceeding 100° compared to only 5 days this year. This past summer’s average tempera- ture was 85°, just slightly below the average tem- perature for the past five years but about 3° less than the average temperature in the summer of 2023.

Unfortunately, we did not receive the large amount of rain that fell in the northwestern portion of the Hill Country. We saw about 7.2 inches, about 1 inch less than the average received the past five years.
