Rural residents offered free rides to the polls

Burnet County voters – Need a free ride to an election booth? No problem. The Capital Area Rural Transportation System (CARTS) plans to offer free rides to and from Burnet County polling places on Election Day, and during the early voting period also.

The Capital Area Rural Transportation System (CARTS) plans to offer free rides to and from Burnet County polling places on Election Day, and during the early voting period also.

“We do not want transportation to be a barrier to anyone,” CARTS spokesperson Dana Platt told The Highlander.
