A false abduction claim in Marble Falls recently prompted a state-wide search for a traveling college student who temporarily lost phone connection with her parents.

The incident unfolded with a call into dispatch about 6:15 p.m. on Oct. 22. Authorities received a report around 8:10 p.m. in connection with parents in Granbury who had lost touch with their adult daughter, who was traveling from Texas State University in San Marcos.
